Fedora下调节刷新率不成功，求教

所安装系统Fedora Core1，显卡型号：Intel 865

安装Fedora的过程中能够自动识别出显卡型号，安装完毕之后可以调节分辨率至1024*768，但是显示器闪烁厉害，无法调节刷新率。
我尝试解决的方法：
1.直接修改/etc/X11/XF86Config文件：
将
Section "Monitor"
        ...
        HorizSync    30.0 - 54.0
        VertRefresh  50.0 - 120.0

修改为：
Section "Monitor"
        ...
        HorizSync    30.0 - 100.0
        VertRefresh  50.0 - 135.0
重启X发现没有任何效果，其他稍小一点的刷新率数值也尝试过了，都不行。
试着修改分辨率从800*600到1024*768倒是立马重启X有效果。

2.运行xvidtune，出现一个出错的窗口，出错信息为：
Video modes are not turnable on this chip.

3.从Intel官方网站下载了该显卡的Linux驱动，但是没有安装成功，错误信息如下：
(1)*.tar.gz文件
在运行./install之后，按了几个回车，出现如下错误：
The script will now compile the agpgart module and DRM kernel modules
for your machine.

Press ENTER to continue or CTRL-C to exit.

Compiling new agpgart module...
ERROR: AGPGART module did not compile
Compiling DRM module...
ERROR: Kernel modules did not compile
The DRI drivers can not be installed without the latest kernel modules.
Installation will be aborted. See the dri.log file for information on what went wrong.

[root@localhost dripkg]#

(2)改为安装*.rpm文件，同样存在错误：
[root@localhost vga]# rpm -ivh telgraphics_20040607_i386.rpm
Preparing...                ########################################### [100%]

   1:dri-I915               ########################################### [100%]

ERROR: Kernel modules did not compile

The DRI drivers can not be installed without the latest kernel modules.
Installation will be aborted. See the dri.log file for information on what went wrong.

Package is installed, but not configured.
You'll need to use rpm -e to remove this package before re-installing.

我不确定是否是因为我的内核有问题，但是我安装Fedora的软件包时候，有关内核的软件包都是安装了的。


实在没其他办法了，该看的帖子也都看了，不行，请大家帮助。小弟先谢谢了。

我认为可能是kernel source 没有安装, 或是没有kernel source 没有做一个链接到linux.

kernel source安装了的, kernel source也有一个链接到linux。

有人有其他的解决方法吗？

我现在也出现这样的问题，是在redhat9上，杂牌显示器，intel845集成32M显卡，没办法上1024x768.真的很焦急。
