gentoo is so cute slow

My ubuntu kernel = 2.6.28

stable........

yesterday, I installed gentoo on my desktop.

This is my first step in gentoo world.

I got kernel panic, using ext4. Maybe my fstab got sth wrong.

I format my XP partation, follow the handbook, chang the file system to ext3........   everything is ok. But I still thinking about the ext4.

Now Im in gentoo wiht kernel 2.6.30-r4, openbox and tint2 work fine in gentoo.

But f/u/c/k GFW, I can not connect to any mirror!  So...  chinese input method-----no........


Install package ------so slow.......

system speed--------fine!!   Mem useage: 74M, Gnome=?   >100M.

你用的源不好，那個163的源明顯是誤導，裏面都不更新了。

你就ftp://gentoo.anheng.com.cn/gentoo 或者 http://ftp.kaist.ac.kr/gentoo 試試。
