Sorry for the English,
I just used slmodem-2.9.6, I think the slmodemd may confict with my kernel or something else.
If the ppp0 service is not launched:
Kppp, it connects to the ISP, then hang the system.
wvdial, it connects to the ISP, then tried to lauch pppd, pppd crashes, killed by wvdial later.

If the ppp0 is lauched in the boot process:
kppp, the same as above.
wvdial, works even it disconnect to the isp, and no auto redail even set up so.


Anybody who use slmodem, could print the kernel config and service list ? Thanks.

NEVER EVER select the
"Legacy (BSD) PTY support (LEGACY_PTYS)"
in Character Devices.

And remember to add ppp support in "Networking support"
