求教！安装NVIDIA显卡驱动后出现的问题

我的系统是LINUX9.0的系统电脑上原有GF4 MX440显卡， 今天我第一次安装了显卡驱动出现了问题。

我在论坛上下载了，
nvidia_kernel-1.0-4363.tar.gz
nvidia_glx-1.0-4363.tar.gz
nvidia-linux-x86-1.0-4363.run
安照论坛上的说明，我采用了第二种安装方法，解压后进行make，然后修改XF86Config 里面的内容。

在重新启动后进入桌面前，可以看到 nvidia的标志。

现在问题是，我进入KDE桌面系统时出现一段英文提示：
could not start kdeinit check your installation
至使我无法进入KDE桌面系统。
而进入GNOME桌面系统却可以进去。 但是我在设置屏幕保护程序时，会出现提示：
the xscreensaver daemon doesn't seem to be running on display".0.0" launch it now?

我不知道是不是我安装错误了，还是其他什么原因。
请知道的大侠，指点一下迷津

试试删除/etc/X11/XF86Config中的ChipSet "GeForce4 MX 440 with AGP8X"这行

没有找到chipset这个选项呀?
是不是驱动我还没有装好!
要是删掉我装的驱动怎么删呢?
我重新安装一遍还行吗?
