求助RedHat linux 9下如何安装板载声卡AD1888--AC97

      我用的是Redhat linux9,内核是2.4.20-8.  主板上声卡是AC97的,芯片型号是AD1888.  我看了论坛里有关安装声卡的帖子, 下载并安装了alsa-driver-0.9.4,  也按完成了/etc/modules.conf的设置(如下), 可就是安不上声卡,正在郁闷ing.  请各位兄台指教.

Personally speaking, I do not recommend you using alsa.OSS(Open Sound System) surely works well now, though lacks a few advance features which are seldom used by common users.Here is the step to use oss for your ac 97 card(in fact, almost all ac 97 cards), and I think it's easier than using alsa.
check the directory of /lib/modules/your-kernel-version/kernel/drivers/sound, find soundcore.o and all kenel module object files having ac97 in its name, load them by using insmod, in this order: soundcore->ac97->ac97_codec,and it will work.
