emerge -avuND world 很多包都不能编译通过

你用的是N卡吗？以前没用N卡驱动?
如果你用startx方式的话，可以  startx >startx.log 2>&1 来看有什么问题
你的意思是上面列出的所有包都编译不过？还是只是小部分几个包？
刚用GENTOO的话第一个碰到的就是USE问题，正常了，USE问题要看个人喜好，还有经验来设置了，ccache开着相对会加速一下


原来用n卡 现在拔掉n卡用 集成的sis显卡了 这两个包被我emerge -C掉了之后 忘记改make.conf中的use设置了
我去更新一下我的emerge world 的list ：）

不是所有的包都编译通过 不通过的有： syslog-ng stardict recode-3.6_p15

我是在将系统升级到~x86之后 就再也没能进去x过

可以用grep EE log来查找信息，可以在 /var/log/Xorg.0.log上找到
(EE) Failed to load module "freetype" (module does not exist, 0)

你用的是fvwm-crystal呀，里面还有一些小错误似的，建议你可以考虑换一个wm或桌面来排除是fvwm的错还是xorg的错误，我这里说的 "换" 是用于测试的换   哈哈我已经很久没用fvwm了

发现  升级到xserver 1.53之后
/usr/lib/xorg/modules下面找不到了freetype 和 vga 模块了

这两个都不需要了么？代替freetype模块的是什么？

注释掉 xorg.conf中的freetype模块之后x仍然是失去键盘鼠标响应
ssh到系统后可以kill X

绝对是经验之谈，哈哈，我昨天弄gnome的问题，把ccache禁了，同时清掉缓存，方法的话看man, 提醒一下，设置一下环境变量再清，如 CCACHE_TMP=/var/tmp/ccache ccache -C  (现在在WIN下不能完全确定参数的正确性，请参考 man)

在 /etc/X11/xorg.conf 里注释掉那行freetype吧
升级 到 xorg 1.5.3的原因呀，你到旁边的archlinux版上，有个文章，以前是顶置一段时间的了，我一下找不到了，我当时也遇到你现在的情况了，按贴子的方法就摆平了，LZ你自己慢慢找些吧，我记得我好像收藏到BLOG里的，你先找找，找不到我再帮你找

这个比较重要,我这边必须加了这些才能响应键盘鼠标

从x86升级到~x86还真是不容易，目前还有几个疑问:

1. 内核中的apggart驱动的作用是什么，在搞X启动的时候发现这个模块没有加载的这个模块的情况下 X仍能启动
2. 内核没有加载sis的显卡驱动，x也能启动？
