I didn't try this, but I got the information from gentoo forum and nvidia forum.
Form kernel 2.6.6 the default stack size is 4K, but nvidia driver need more than 4K, so if you have a nvidia card and you want to use the driver provided by nvidia co. you need to config the kernel to disable the 4k stack in kernel hacking page.
also if you use gentoo and emerge the 2.6.5-r1, it maybe will affect you, so please do the adjustment if you have the problem.
